Early geological formations

These rocks were formed over 65 million years ago when dinosaurs roamed the earth. Trinidad was once a part of a great inland sea, and these rocks were formed from the sediments that settled at the bottom.

Plant & marine-animal fossils

Many of the plants and animals that lived in the sea during the time of the dinosaurs are now preserved as fossils. These fossils can tell us a lot about what the world was like millions of years ago. The Louden-Henritze Archeology Museum has a variety of fossils on display, including those of plants, fish, amphibians, reptiles, and even dinosaurs.

Dinosaur tracks

The first dinosaur tracks were discovered in 1834 by Dr. Gideon Mantell in England. Since then, many more have been found all over the world – including right here in Trinidad! These fossilized footprints provide us with a glimpse into the past and how these massive creatures once roamed the earth.

Prehistoric Artifacts
