Their Story: The Crowther Family And Their Dairy Farm

In 1890, Thomas Crowther settled in Sanford, Colorado. Thomas and his children formed the W.O. Crowther and Sons Company, which later became the Crowther Dairy Farm. The family has worked with livestock and crops since then. Bob Crowther and his family have carried on this lifestyle and it is now known as Crowther Dairy.

On March 12th, 1823, Thomas Crowther was born. He was born in Easthop, a rural area of Shropshire, England. He was immediately put to work in this area at a young age, and he worked there for 30 years.

In 1853, he sold EVERYTHING he owned, packed up his entire family, and set sail for the United States of America. They came to a halt in St. Louis, Missouri, and stayed for over 30 years. By 1887, seven of his children had relocated to the San Luis Valley in southern Colorado and were permanent residents.

Thomas Crowther established the Crowther Dairy Farm on March 6, 1890, in a new home in the town of Sanford, Colorado. He understood the importance of taking care of his family while also working hard. He was known to be supportive of all of them. This is where the Incredible Family Tradition of genuinely caring for one another began. It is still going on today and will be for the rest of the time.
